High Tea, History, and Headbands

 Fun week for the sisters!

On Saturday we went to Dove's Nest high tea, and it was really great. We dressed up in our pastels and dresses, put our pinkies up, and enjoyed eachothers company.

The food was delish, lots of sandwiches and scones, desserts and of course tons of tea options!

Then we had a nice little family dinner and played outside. Because on the longest day of the year you don't have to rush, because the sun probably hasn't set yet.

Then on Sunday we went to heritage park!! Sister #3 first time and it was really great! We read about ghosts, explored the houses, and drank root beer. I always love it there cause it feels like you've stepped onto a movie set or travelled back in time.

Sister #4 went on a knitting spree this week!! Here's my latest additions to my yarn collection.

Also I got this really neat yarn called tee shirt yarn, it's like a cotton yarn. It's very soft and feels like a tee shirt that has been cut into thin strips. I don't know how else to explain it. It'd be good for a beginner knitter because it doesn't fray and it's easy to work with.

Here's a headband I made with my dusty purple yarn, size 4 lion brand. Here's the pattern I used!

App suggestion of the week! Charades!!! It's so much fun to play. We played for hours! They have different categories and you can make your own! Fun for hours!!

DIY Necklace Holder

Sister #4's crafts are baaaack!

Sister #1 wanted a necklace holder for her birthday so I decided to make her one.

All I needed was:
A picture frame - I got this at value village "it was 99 cents"

Some paint! $2 Martha Stewart light blue paint from Walmart! To paint the frame.

Paint brushes, scissors and a decorative fabric of your choice. You can also use pictures if you want as your background!

Now you just have to attach the fabric to the cardboard from the frame. Using either tape, scissors, glue or any adhesive you can dream of!

Just assemble - add a couple nails to the top and you're complete!!!
An adorable necklace holder that was made in under an hour. So easy!

More grad, rain hair, tea, and flashbacks

Weekend with the family!
On Friday we celebrated Sister #2's graduation from St.Mary's with her degree majoring in Psychology and minored in Family Studies and Sociology.

Rain hair isn't a bad thing! Neil Pasricha taught me that. Here's his blog post that will make you smile.

Here are some pictures from the event:
  Just jumping so high.
It seemed like it would be a good idea

Celebrations at menchies and the mall afterwards with lots of gifts!
The book - The Opposite of Loneliness, a book end from Anthropologie, high tea at Doves Nest (to be blogged in the future), mascara, postcards, pens, a heritage park pass, and more!

Fathers Day was a simple but lovely one.
We ate in China town at this little gem of a restaurant, gifted our dad an ipad, eyebrow trimmer, and card holder, then headed over to the Fairmont Palliser's centennial celebration! It was like travelling back in time. I loved it so much. The swing dancing was my absolute favorite part.

A lot of people dressed up. They served cake and tea (hot and cold). Displayed some archival items from the hotel. And even Mayor Nenshi was there to celebrate!

Even though the sun wasn't out, we shone bright like diamonds.

Grad for Sisters #1 and 3

Two birds with one stone.

We celebrated two grads today for Sister #1 and #3. They graduated from SAIT Polytechnic in the Energy Asset Management and Engineering Design and Drafting - Civil.

Here are some photos from the day!

CONGRATS SISTERS!!!!

Sister Surprise

So Sisters #1, 2, and 3 were all graduating this year. So I (Sister #4) decided to give them a big surprise as a graduation gift.

The lie: We're sleeping over at Sister #1's house and we're just going to hang out for the day. We can get ready together and head over to have some dinner (my treat).

What actually happened: We arrived at Sister #1's house at 1pm and with me I had flip flops and magazines, which only meant one thing: mani pedis!!! (They thought I booked appointments for Tuesday but I had already had these booked for 2 weeks!)

We went over to get our nails done at aura spa and it was super relaxing! The pedicures were amazing, I fell asleep multiple times. They make it hard not to when youre sitting on a leather couch with a down pillow and your feet soaking in warm water.

After we went to the Lindt store and grabbed some chocolate. I think it's safe to say every sister recommends caramel Lindt! So yummy!
I then talked on the phone with our mom and she told us that she picked up my dad from work and they were both headed to the grey eagle casino and they wanted us to meet them there. Believable.

So off we went to Grey Eagle to meet them. Meanwhile I told my sisters my stomach was hurting and I really needed to go to the bathroom. I told them to find my parents while I run to the bathroom. I so I ran to the car and grabbed the luggage and checked into the Grey Eagle Resort. Set up all the luggage in the room and a bottle of sparkling cider (with the help of the bell boy of course).

I called them and told them they had to see this washroom I found. Leading them to the hotel room. SURPRISE.
This hotel was amazing. SO FANCY YALL.

My parents were never at the casino.
I packed my sisters stuff from her apartment (very sneakily).
I packed their bathing suits. (Obvs we HAD to go for a swim).

We then got ready to go for dinner (that was still a surprise)

Off to dinner we went! And captured an who-oh-tee-dee

The dinner surprise was at LeVilla in Signal Hill. That was fancy and very nice! Inside it was really cute and fancy. And the food was very good!!! Even down to the iced tea

Hung out with the parents at the casino, as if this day couldn't get better I won $50 there.

Final surprise of the day was matching PJs for the gurlz.

The next day we woke up well rested - cause those beds in the hotel were too comfy. Went for a swim and off to the free breakfast buffet we went!!! It was incredible!

And sadly, that concluded the Extreme Grad Surprise.

It was so fun.

ps. we definitely recommend the Grey Eagle Resort. It was clean, the beds were comfy, and the staff was incredibly friendly. It was a wonderful experience, definitely worth the money!
